Twenty-Four Reasons to Own High-Capacity Magazines

Frances Xavier Mingo, Mountain Finch Post

No prelude here. The reasons speak for themselves. 1) Not every one has good aim and a few extra rounds ensure a predator is hit. [1]  2) Even people with supposed good aim find, in a “split-decision, throw-down, adrenaline-pumped situation,” that they will rapidly expend rounds without even knowing it. If bullets are flying back, you can’t afford an empty magazine. [2]

3) Two or more attackers, especially moving ones, can easily consume dozens of rounds in seconds just to keep them at a distance. [3]

4) Occasionally the cops need help, though many of them are now equipped with military style rifles and high-capacity magazines themselves. [4]

5) Terrorists [5]

6) Invading Armies [6]

7) Criminal Gangs [7]

8) Home invaders sometimes number four or more and invade from multiple break-in locations. This requires high-capacity capability to defend your family. [8]

9) People whacked out on drugs are like zombies and sometimes require many hits before stopping their attack. See 1, 2 and 3 as well. [9]

10) The bad guys (or gals) will always get maximum firepower. Your legally allowed 10 round, .22 caliber pistol will be laughed at while you are blown away. [10]

11) The cops are there to take pictures of the bodies. [11]

12) Alien Invasion (OK, not sure about this one). [12]

13) While you might think it’s humanitarian to share with hundreds of starving people massing towards your door, they see you as an obstacle to their survival. [13]

14) Gangs are known to attack while you’re driving the family down the highway. You need the extra capacity to ensure you hit a fast-moving target and disable their pursuit. Tell the cops the mile marker where they broke down. See 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 and 11 as well. [14]

15) The government: federal, state or local is not going to protect you (you aren’t in the top 5%). Not at all. Got it. You are on your own. [15]

16) A well-organized criminal group may be wearing head-to-toe body armor. You need high-capacity, high-powered rifle capability to ensure you come out on top in a firefight. See virtually all of the above. [16]

17) Drug trafficking is still rampant despite decades of prohibition. These people are not intimidated by your low-capacity pea shooter and have a passion for violence. [17]

18) While most rank-and-file law enforcement officers are applauded for their work, don’t listen to the law enforcement class who have a vested interest in disarming you. They care more about the dollar than your freedom or protection. See 11 and 15 as well. [18]

19) A shotgun is only practical in a limited range. Nothing beats having high-capacity capability whether a shotgun, handgun or rifle to ensure you have defeated an attack on you and your family. See 1, 2, 3 and 9 as well. [19]

20) “The world is filled with violence. Because the criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise, they will win and the decent people will lose.” –James Earl Jones [20]

21) Mass Riots. See 5, 6, 7, 11, 15 and 18 as well. [21]

22) “Among the many mis-deeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest.” –Mahatma Gandhi [22]

23) It is your right to decide to what extent you should protect yourself, your family and your property. [23]

24) Do you trust the government and their “kool-aid drinking” officials to protect you? You should seriously ask this question especially if your ethnicity or heritage has been targeted at any point in history by the people in charge. Don’t be misled by the color of their skin or softness of their voice. Don’t be a fool. [24]

Enough said. Now tell your law enforcement officials, your elected representatives (local, state and federal) that they will not limit to what extent you protect yourself and that it is none of their business to what extent, as a decent citizen and community member, you protect yourself. If they don’t listen, replace them with people who respect your freedom.
